Spirit Dancer, From The Faeries Oracle, by Brian Froud and Jessica MacBeth

Dear Friend,

As we step into March, we find ourselves at a powerful threshold. Yesterday's New Moon in Pisces whispers of dissolution, surrender, and mystery, while Aries, waiting just ahead, calls us to bold emergence. In between, we stand in the liminal space—where endings and beginnings blur, where we are asked to release what no longer serves and make space for something new.

In Vedic astrology, this particular New Moon aligns with Shatabhisha, a lunar mansion known for its themes of healing, mystery, and the search for truth. Ruled by Rahu, it invites us into deep introspection and self-discovery. At the same time, Saturn—the original ruler of Aquarius—offers the wisdom of structure, reminding us that the visions we hold must be anchored in patience and commitment. This is a potent moment for setting intentions that bridge the unseen and the tangible, allowing our inner transformations to take form in the world.

The faery oracle card for this month, Spirit Dancer, speaks of self-expression, freedom, and exploration—a perfect companion for this time of transition. As we shed old ways of being, we are invited to bring our inner world into form, to dance with the unknown, and to allow creativity to lead us forward.

What aspects of yourself are ready to be expressed?

What truths are stirring within, waiting to be spoken, moved, or shaped into something tangible?

Crossing the Threshold: Practices for Release and Renewal into March

1. Creative Alchemy

Engage in a form of creative expression that speaks to your soul—be it painting, writing, music, or crafting. Instead of focusing on the final outcome, let this be a practice of exploration and surrender. Allow emotions to flow freely onto the canvas, page, or through movement, trusting that creation itself is a process of alchemy and healing. This practice invites self-discovery and renewal, encouraging you to express the unspoken and embrace the unknown.

2. Cleansing Waters Ritual

Honor the transition of the season with a simple water-based ritual for renewal and clarity. Fill a bowl with fresh water, infusing it with herbs, salt, or flowers that align with your intentions. Immerse your hands in the water, visualizing a gentle release of what no longer serves you. As you lift your hands, imagine drawing in new energy, clarity, and wholeness, inviting a sense of deep purification and renewal.

3. Nature Immersion

Spend time immersed in nature—walking in the woods, sitting by a river, or simply standing barefoot on the earth. Allow the rhythms of the natural world to mirror your own inner cycles. Observe the slow emergence of spring and reflect: What within me is awakening? What needs nurturing? Let the wisdom of the elements guide you into a deeper state of grounding and presence.

4. Intuitive Journaling

Set aside time for stream-of-consciousness writing, allowing your pen to move without hesitation. Begin with a simple prompt: What truth is revealing itself to me right now? or What am I ready to release and embrace? Let your words flow uncensored, revealing hidden insights, emotions, and patterns, inviting inner clarity and deep self-reflection.

5. Moonlit Meditation

As the moon waxes, dedicate time to a silent meditation beneath its glow. Sit or lie comfortably in a quiet space, focusing on your breath. Visualize the moonlight pouring over you, illuminating the path ahead. Invite intuitive guidance to emerge from the stillness, trusting that clarity arises in its own time. This practice cultivates trust in the unknown, supporting both inner vision and transformation.

6. Embodied Movement Flow

Engage in intuitive movement—whether dance, yoga, stretching, or free-form flow—to express what words cannot. Begin with a simple intention: What energy am I holding? What do I need to release or embody? Let your body move in response, noticing how sensations shift. Allow movement to become a conversation with yourself, a way of attuning to the wisdom that lives within, bridging the physical and the unseen.

Preparing for the Spring Equinox

As we move through March, we are approaching the Spring Equinox (March 20th)—a moment of perfect balance between light and dark, marking the turning point where the days begin to grow longer. This is a time of renewal, fertility, and emergence, when the seeds of our intentions start to take root.

In the coming weeks, consider:

  • What in my life is coming into balance?

  • What am I ready to plant and nurture in this next season?

  • How can I align myself with the energy of renewal and possibility?

A Simple Equinox Ritual

On the day of the Equinox, you may wish to honor this shift with a simple practice:

What You’ll Need: A candle, a bowl of water, and something to represent new growth (a seed, a sprig of greenery, or even a symbol written on paper).

The Ritual: In a quiet space, light your candle and reflect on this question: Where in my life am I ready to embrace greater harmony and growth? Speak or write your intentions, symbolically pouring them into the water as an offering of renewal. Carry this sense of balance with you into the coming days, taking one aligned step forward.

You may wish to invoke Ostara, the goddess of the dawn and springtime, with a simple prayer:

"Ostara, bringer of light and renewal,

Awaken the seeds within and around me.

May I grow in harmony with the turning wheel,

And walk forward in balance and joy."

Closing Thoughts

This is a month of movement, of trust, of putting down roots, and of stepping into the dance of what wants to be created through you. I invite you to explore this threshold with curiosity and presence.

How can you move with grace between release and renewal, honoring both the surrender and the spark of new beginnings?

With love and warmth,

Fayenen
